I only saw the highlights but goddamn!
Not only good to see the Phoenix finally break the dam of draws that had been barricading their potential, but do it in such style! As the commentators said, this is the biggest and to date most historic win a New Zealand football club has ever had against an Australian side in the A-League. It is better and more beautiful than anything the Knights or Kings ever accomplished.
And yet the achievement won less attention on NZ's most popular online news website, stuff.co.nz, than the Kings/Knights most mediocre achievement. This is not surprising. Especially since stuff is at the frontline of rugby's war-for-ratings. It's just a little sad.
Either way, I'll be at the Stadium wearing yellow for the Phoenix's next home clash. Good work boys.
